Welcome!

My name is Emma Torry and I am a mezzo-soprano and singing teacher based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

I teach students of all ages, offering a Kodaly-based programme of singing skills and general musicianship for primary-aged children and more formal singing tuition in classical and music theatre to high school pupils and adults. As part of this, I prepare students for exams in performance and theory with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (Singing, Performance and Teaching Diplomas), London Collage of Music (Music Theatre, Composition, Video Exams) and Trinity Collage London (Initial Singing, Theory). For high school aged pupils, I also offer courses of tutoring for standard grade, higher and advanced higher examinations.

As a performer, I enjoy singing in a range of styles from Handel’s oratorios to Sondheim’s shows. Over the last year, I have performed as part of The Classical Clanjamfrie and taken part in the Edinburgh Competition Festival. I teach part time, and currently have some openings for students.
